Onboard Systems Hires Mike Fox as VP Sales & Marketing; VP Karsten Lemmon Departs
Monday, December 7, 2020
Onboard Systems today announced that Mike Fox, most recently the General Manager of Goodrich Hoist and Winch, has joined Onboard as Vice President, Sales and Marketing following the decision by Karsten Lemmon to step down from that role. Lemmon will remain with Onboard through January 2021 as Fox transitions fully into his new position.
Lemmon began his career with Onboard on the production side of the business in 1989, moving to sales in 2001 as an Account Manager. He became Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2007. During Karsten’s years at the company, he worked tirelessly to strengthen Onboard’s partnership with external load operators around the world. In addition, he helped solidify relationships with the helicopter OEMs to increase contract awards for key aircraft, and launched a wide range of customer-focused capabilities on the Onboard Systems website, including automated documentation update notices, eCommerce functionality, and an instant quoting system.
“It has been truly gratifying to work at Onboard Systems through so many years of continuous growth and improvement,” said Lemmon. “I’ve enjoyed meeting many of our customers around the world, listening to their feedback and then turning that around to help create and continually improve the helicopter external load equipment that they rely upon each day. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside the many talented people at Onboard who have dedicated themselves to making safe and durable products, and to helping our customers achieve their goals. I am confident of Onboard’s strong future, and I believe that Mike will help Onboard to continue providing the level of care and support that our customers have come to expect from us.”
Fox has worked in the aerospace industry for many years, first at a tooling company where he started on the shop floor as a welder and grew to manage two manufacturing facilities, then moving over to Collins Aerospace with the Goodrich Hoist and Winch business. He started with Goodrich as a product line manager, working closely with customers as well as the Goodrich program and business development teams to ensure that they were solving the right problems with the right products, eventually becoming the General Manager of Goodrich Hoist and Winch.
“Onboard Systems provides a great opportunity to work in the industry I love while contributing to continued growth and customer satisfaction," said Fox. "My passions are building interpersonal relationships, solving problems, exercising creativity, taking smart risks, and being nimble. Onboard has a fantastic reputation with both customers and industry peers, so I’m excited to join a team that provides an exciting product and does right by its customers. I'm looking forward to providing our rotorcraft customers with the best products and support at the best value, as well as increasing the global reach of our products on new platforms and in new regions, with both new and longtime customers.”
